I spent the day doing last minute puttering before
elisem goes in for surgery tomorrow. A walk with a friend, some napping (because my body and cycles are still wonky from trip), and then going to Elise's to help keep her distracted and non-fretty.
In the end, we settled down to organise her Nocturne Alchemy perfume stash, which is completist and extensive, and more easily done with two people. I also got various last minute instructions (they've changed her surgery time about five times in the last few days for various reasons.) All now seems relatively well-settled, though.
Then came home, burdened with bath stuff from her that she won't be able to use for a while (so I might as well, as some of it's on its way out). Made dinner - which I highly recommend.
Boil water. Add pasta. When pasta is cooked, strain, drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, add some marinated artichoke hearts, and a pinch of salt. Eat contentedly. (It would do fine with some fresh tomatos, or with olives, or with capers, too, I think, but like this is surprisingly good.)
