My day today has looked like this:

5:30am : Wake up.
7:00am : drive to work.
7:15am : arrive at work, do all sorts of necessary year end things.
8:45am to noon:15: Meeting (with various segments

more work with a short lunch break.

Work until 5:30pm
5:30 Drive self and minion to other campus for graduation, pausing for dinner at Baja Sol on the way.
6:30 Hang out and talk to other faculty.

7:00 Line up in some semblance of seniority order. (We do not wear academic robes, thank the Gods, given the usual temperature in the courtyard in June. We do however process in order of seniority in the school, with the longest employees in the front. At 9 years, I am now dead smack in the middle of the pack.

9:00pm: Graduation finishes.
Hang out and talk to former boss (back to see his homeroom graduate).
Eventually migrate to local bar. Watch colleagues (and administrators, whee!) get drunker than I am. (Not hard: I had about 2/3 of a glass of beer over the course of an hour and a half.)

11:00pm Drive minion home.
11:30pm Get home from dropping minion off.

Shortly: fall over.

At 9am tomorrow, I need to be at the year end meeting. I need to leave for that around 8:15am at the very latest, and 8 would be saner. (At least I can sleep till 7, which is serious sleeping in on a weekday around here.)

Erm. Yes. All good stuff, but damn, the last week of school is hard on a body. (This is following a Monday where I was on campus from 7am to 8:15pm except for a 4th Street related meeting, and then two intervening days of meetings and scrambling to finish things up.)
