Left work (bringing box of Title stuff to deal with home with me, so I can do it this weekend) and went to public library to pay fines and pick up book on about-to-expire hold.
Got asked *twice* inside 5 minutes if I were a librarian.
Answered: "Yes, but not here - but maybe I can help you?" (in one case, it was helping man with vision issues navigate logging into library computer and get to Google, in other case, I couldn't, as it was a problem with a library card.)
Got, in the second case "Oh, but you look so official"
Like I said, every check mark on the library stereotype box, now checked. I am, for the record, wearing a black skirt, blue top, glasses, my hair in a braid down the back, and Lands End sandals.
Now, however, I do have an imminent headache, so I am going to feed it dinner, and curl up and be mindless. Tomorrow should involve a trip to the farmer's market and to the co-op, but I'm otherwise amazingly unscheduled this weekend.
(My other plans involve a thing for a brand new initiate, assuming she survives tomorrow night, and maybe talking to her Sunday, and the Title paperwork, and I hope, headache allowing, harping and writing and nice walks outside.)

Date: 2009-05-30 04:20 pm (UTC)The long hair rather helps, doesn't it? More seriously, I dress for comfort and ease of laundering. Heavy cotton skirt (and I desperately need to order more from Deva Lifewear, because I wear the one I have an absurd amount. Comfy, deep and well-made pockets, and drapes beautifully.) Turtlenecks in the winter (and sweaters as needed), plain t-shirts in the summer, and a strong preference for all cotton (or if not, less than 5% lycra or spandex for shaping.)
It looks professional and tidy, but it's about as comfy as what I sleep in (t-shirt and shorts in summer, a long nightdress or a t-shirt and loose cotton pants in winter.)
