Now that I can actually contemplate long-term plans again, it's probably time for me to put some thoughts down. You get the 1, 3, 5 year version, as these numbers make me happy.

By the end of the summer
- Be in good enough shape that I can walk a mile (which gets me to the library or two different coffee shops) and walk back without dying in the middle or when I get home. (I'm currently managing half a mile with no misery.)

- Revamped the Pagan Research book

- Written a slightly absurd number of essays for the coven teaching stuff.

- Helped the esteemed [livejournal.com profile] elisem post surgery.

- Done some other fun and creative stuff around the edges, and seen a whale. (I very much intend to go whale watching while out in Boston this summer if at all possible.)

1 year
By this time next year, I would like to:
- have survived next year at work, and set up some really excellent things to be going on with.

- re-written, edited, and sent the Better Pagan Research book out for publication. (Ok, I'd also like someone to *select* it for publication, but I do not have control over that part of the process.)

- have added at least 1, and hopefully 2 new members to Phoenix Song, at least as Dedicants who seem likely to stick around.

- have rearranged my living space to suit me (and bought more shelving, weeded some of my books, some of my wardrobe, and generally made the existing spaces work better.)

- Cut back on (but not drop, probably) my commitments to Pagan Pride, and cut back on other external commitments for a bit to spend more time a) with the coven stuff and b) doing other things I'd like (music, f'example.)

- have reestablished a meaningful music practice.

- Paid off all debt except my student loans. (I'm on track to do this.)

- Continue my habit of going to at least one musical thing each month, and at least one thing that's out of my normal social circles. (They can be the same event, but they often aren't.)

3 years
- More music. In ways that are deep and sustainable and joy-making and all that other good stuff. An ongoing small group to make music *with* might do this. Dunno.

- I would like a new relationship that's healthy and happy and good for me. I don't *need* one, and I am quite content being single. But by this point, I might have wanted more company. Who knows.

- Bought a (newer) car. I'd ideally like a hybrid. Current car is 9 years old, has 125K miles, and generally is starting to show her age.

- Created a substantial savings account, because I suspect around this point, I will be contemplating house shopping. (I adore my current rental, but I suspect I will eventually want more shelf space than a 20x20 footprint allows.)

- Be approaching the size limit for the coven (which is somewhere between 5-10) with a good and healthy balance of people doing amazing things, so we can truly shift from 'new people in coven' mode to 'actually doing deeper nifty stuff all the time' mode.

- Have done new and amazing things at work that I can't predict in advance at this point, because work is a rapidly changing world :)

- Done some adjunct teaching at St. Kate's (in their LIS program) or something similar. (I do *not* want to do it next year, but after that?)

5 years
- To have started establishing myself even further in the profession - more deeply in my local area, etc.

- To potentially have started at an MDiv or something similar through Cherry Hill Seminary (because I'm a geek, and we all know I can't stay away from academia *that* long. Ideally, though, I'd rather they were accredited first.)

- To have done the crossover research about researching for spiritual/personal needs and done formal write-ups/etc. in professional journals and other resources.

- To probably have a house.

Other stuff not tidily fitting in this year by year plan
- Go to France with friends in summer of 2010 (we hope) and maybe the UK in 2011? (I would also like to revisit Greece and Italy, and visit whole bunches of places for the first time, but first things first.)
- Visit [livejournal.com profile] alhandra in San Diego
- See folks in Boston (and family in New Haven) at least once a year.
- Make it to Pantheacon at least once.
- Acquire a second (more portable) harp, and play in other locations than home more often (and have the skills and repetoire to make that actually feasible.)

Do you have approximate dates at this point, just for personal planning purposes? I would like to make sure, for example, that I'm in town when you come visit. ;)

Dates now stuck in brain, will stay in town those days.

We look forward to seeing you! Don't know about getting out for whales, but potentially. (Also, there is an open blacksmithing class at the moment on July 5, if that is of *any* interest to you. I mention it 'cause you weren't here for the one I hosted. ;)

Once you get your dates sorted out, let me know and I will ping the Forge Masters. July looks like it's actually pretty open on their schedule right now, it appears, so if I asked nicely, we might be able to do another taste-of class with other people who couldn't make it to the other party, even if the Sunday class *doesn't* work. :)
