I have been nudged to make it easier for people to figure out things I might want, should they want to give them to me for some reason. Hence, this list.

I have incredibly limited storage space, so you'll notice that most of the following is very small/easy to store.

A color range note
Rather than repeating this multiple times: as anyone who sees me in person knows, I am all about the darker/cooler jewel tones. In general, I like highly saturated color, with a heavy emphasis on the blues, greens, and purples, and teals/aquas. The same goes for my living space. I also like small amounts of true garnet/ruby reds and wheat-deep golds, especially in combination with blues and greens. Orange makes me go "Eep!" in a not good way generally. So do lots of bright yellows or really vibrant reds. My default neutral color is black.

Particular current desires
* Interesting magnets and buttons are also always fun and good. Library and techie geekiness in particular.

* Pressed glass suncatchers (in rich jewel tones, particularly blues and greens and purples.) There are a number of colonial-America style ones out there: I've seen sun and spiral and beehive designs I particularly liked. In general, if you go for elemental related designs and colors, you can't go wrong.

* Interesting bowls to store things. Or small to medium size boxes. Or baskets big enough to hold tea/bath/etc. supplies. The color range above works, especially in the blues, greens, and purples. Or wicker, for baskets.

* Also, on the book front (and I know both of these are pricy, and again, don't expect anyone to acquire them for me. Consider this part a reminder to myself, as much as anything.)

Heather Alexander's Complete Song Book: $54.95 - http://heatherlands.com
Heather Dale's _Legends of Arthur_ songbook : $34

General happy things
* Any container, object, etc. made out of cobalt blue glass. No, seriously. I will adore it, I will find a use for it, and I will make happy noises every time I see it.

* Shawls, sarongs, misc. pieces of fabric in the above color ranges, and particularly if they're wearable. (I am built on the 'European peasant good at surviving famine' body type: larger is good. I mostly wear a 2X these days, but it depends a little on cut.)

* Hair barrettes, clips and shorter hair sticks: I have long hair, and regularly use hair clips. Any of the larger rectangular shaped ones (with the clip you press together to release on the back) work fairly well. Shorter hair sticks are great too (I'm short: long ones have a tendency to become dangerous to other people near me). I have fine hair, so smaller clips often work just fine too. I prefer silver as the metal for hair stuff, as it picks up the silver in my hair.

* Books and music: Ok, I admit this is both the obvious one, and the hard one, because it's hard to figure out what I already have and want. Gift certificates are *fantastic*, right now I have almost no book buying money, and a long list of things I want to own.

Locally, I shop at Magus Books and Eye of Horus for esoteric stuff, and at Dreamhaven and Uncle Hugo's/Uncle Edgar's for speculative fiction and spec fic/mysteries, respectively. But we also have Borders and Barnes and Noble and all that within reach, and Amazon comes to one's door. Music wise, gift certificates to http://serpentinemusic.com and iTunes both work really well for music.

* Jewelry. Particularly as made by [livejournal.com profile] elisem, but in general. (She has an excellent idea of my tastes in jewelry, and she is familiar with keeping wishlists for people.) See above colors. Some of my stuff from her is on gold-filled wire, some of it is on silver. I almost never wear bracelets, but do wear pendants, necklaces of varying lengths, etc.

* I admit a fondness for Celtic knot-style work, as well, things involving a folk harp, or things with the Uffington Horse on them.

* Chocolate. Especially interesting chocolate. I prefer dark, but milk chocolate is perfectly fine.

Perfume, incense, soap, bath things, and so on.
I adore interesting smelling things, including soap and bath bombs/salts/etc. I am a sucker for acquiring more.

You can see fuller lists at the bottom of this page, to better calibrate particular interests.

I'm also a Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab perfume fan. In general, here's what works for me, and it's as true in bath stuff as in perfume:

Good notes:
* honey
* lavender
* vanilla
* pomegranate, currant, and other dark berries
* rosemary (except in perfume, where it doesn't work well for me)
* pine, cypress, and other related things
* aquatic notes
* oakmoss (and patchouli, in limited doses)

Stuff that is not for me:
* baked goods or heavily sugary or chocolate scents (I don't generally want to smell like food. Other than berries.)
* alcohol notes other than wine.
* pumpkin : smells nice, don't want to smell like it.
* chamomile : it's my one significant tendency towards herb/scent allergies, and I try not to encourage it to get worse.
* coconut and most things that are energetically Tropical Vacation Here!

(If something is not listed here, and you're not sure, you can ask, but I've got all the major issues on my 'not for me' list, so you can just avoid those and be fine too.)

Soaps and other non-perfume things:
General notes: anything involving figs, honey, currants, garden scents (especially English/European garden settings), and pine/winter things make me particuarly happy. I avoid sugar/baked goods/chocolate/alcohol scents or smells in things, generally (though there’s a couple of noted exceptions: I like chocolate in face masks/some scrubs as it turns out. And sugar scrubs are their own beast, and totally fine.)

Short version: anything from http://thesoapboxco.com that fits my scent preferences is fine.
