Either way:
Spend weekend getting all of one's files in order for transfer to laptop and archival (because, dear self, you probably do not need to transfer them all, *really*.) and sorting out email address downloading for better usability long-term. (Most notably, I want to split the professional email lists into their own category, the personal email lists into their own category, and filter the direct personal stuff better.)
Option 1) If check clears today, go forth to Apple Store and acquire laptop. Spend the weekend
setting it up.
Option 2) If check does not clear today, it probably will Monday. Go acquire computer on Monday (after walk), bring home, and get at least preliminary set-up work done on it. (Note to self: you are busy Tuesday evening and Thursday evening and a chunk of the weekend.)
