I remain very nostalgic about our VAX systems. (Our systems at the time were named after Snoopy characters: the VAXen were Sally, Molly, Patty, and Lucy. When you logged into Lucy, you got a special message saying "The Doctor is IN".)
I didn't do much programming on them (erm, any) but I loved the text terminal interface anyway.
