Just as cool.

He's deeply amused by my ability to get and remember this stuff (which is apparently not as common), and also my ability to, despite the amount of habitual tenseness in my body, to let it go when I pay attention to it. (The goal is, of course, to let it go when I'm *not* paying attention to it.) And the fact that when I get my body out of the way of my brain (something I have a lot of practice doing in the moment, since it's core to both a lot of my riding history - and to a fair amount of Craft work I do, I've done it a fair bit) nifty stuff happens.

We did a lot of the same kind of work this time - often with people new to stuff, he mixes things up, so they can see different kinds of possibilities, but because we already know I don't need to be convinced of the benefits, keeping with the 'how do I rotate my body' makes a lot of sense.

One thing we played with today was the flexor vs. extensor muscles on the front and back of my body. He did a bit of trying gently to lift either my toe or heel (I'm lying on my back with my knees bent at this point.) Then he went and applied gentle pressure under my lower back, and everything - after a few minutes of this - eased up and moved a lot more freely. Totally fascinating. Basically, what I've been tending to do is make lots the extensor muscles work really really really hard. Eventually they get tired, and everything collapses, but until then, everything gets really rigid and stiff.

Ok. I can work with that. Still totally fascinating. And I keep stopping every few minutes as my body starts trying something else out.
