I spent the afternoon at work (argh, more paperwork, but some of it is now in.)
I then went off to gaming, and we ended up finishing up the last major fight in the campaign we're on. (This has had a little of everything: destruction of armies by biological warfare, a volcano about to explode, a wide variety of flora and fauna, and a lot of our now traditional having a really hard time on the theoretically easy encounters, and an easy time on the hard ones.)
The last fight took us most of the evening. No one died, which I'm frankly sort of amazed at. (However, I've got to say that one particular character choice of mine was very much part of that: one of my class skills allows me to remove the touch requirement from one single spell. I chose 'Lesser Battle Healing' which means that I am able to take people from nearly-dead to not-dead-at-all without having to actually get near them. Given that my character is mighty of mind but wimpy of body, this is very handy. It's easier to heal people when you are not dead yourself.)
I then stayed later (because I am making the most of my last week of vacation, thanks) and spent a good deal of talking to C and K about various and sundry things. It was a very excellent conversation, and got us talking about a number of specific things where sharing information is a lovely thing. It was, I think, the first time we've really had a conversation of that depth since I hived, and it now feels very right and comfortable to do it that way - I don't need to play the comparison role, but we can talk in ways that will hopefully help all of us. Yay!
