- I am still way tired. Came home yesterday, and crashed hard.

- Today, I got up, made my decoction to drink for the first time in ages, puttered, and then did a small magical working for Elise, on request. (It's about being open to thinking outside the box, and to untangling the stuff that's all tangled re: the hip and very old injuries, etc.)

The end *physical* result is five strands of lioness-colored ribbon (two red, two yellow, and one dark red, if I remember right) tied in a knot at one end, and then tied in with each other in varying combinations for 42 knots (to represent the intervening years since the accident) and tied at the end (for now), with the substantial ends flowing freely.

They're coiled into a small silver box with a phoenix on the top, and resting on a bed of rosemary (a generally good purification and healing herb), linden (one of her favorites, and also associated with the heart, and therefore emotional health), and marshmallow (which is a) soothing and b) my personal linkage to keep dumping energy into it, because Althaea is my chosen 3rd degree name.) I have instructed her to pet it periodically, and to think good outside the box thoughts.

- In a bit, I am going off to talk to someone who's interning with one of the interfaith programs in town about interfaith issues and Paganism.

- After that, I intend to come back and write. Book, probably, rather than article, as the article is still sort of gelling in my head.

Progress!

I have managed to write a rough draft of an introduction for the Better Pagan Research book. It was less painful than it might have been (it took me about 90 minutes for 1300 words or so, which is pretty average for me once stuff's gelled properly in the back of my head.)

The introduction promised to be me more tricky than a lot of it (because a lot of it is more practical explanations of how to do things, that are pretty straightforward once you get going.)

I am, however, delighted to have the proof that I can kick my brain into gear while dealing with other things, and that I managed to turn out reasonable prose. (It now needs editing. Conciseness is not my virtue, so I expect to lose at least a third of the length in the process, though I did a lot of condensing on the fly this time, which is also a promising sign.)

Anyway, I am pleased. My computer (via a new iTunes alarm program) is now telling me I should go to bed via playing a carefully designed "go to bed now" playlist, so I'm going to do that. Tomorrow, I hope for more writing. (And ideally, this weekend, the article that has a deadline.)

In other news, I should have my contributor's copies of the 2010 Witch's Companion almanac early next week. Yay! w
