Excellent news to report from the lioness! I sat with her for the late morning and early afternoon (during which we had a good but hard PT session). I then went off on airport-collecting duties. (Erm. Collecting someone from the airport, not collecting airports, that is.)

We returned to Elise's room, and discovered that there had been fabulous progress during the afternoon PT session: they got her standing very briefly with the walker, sitting in a chair for about 40 minutes, and back into bed. This is a huge leap over the morning, and we are all suitably delighted. (I forgot to ask if the combo of taking the anti-nausea meds and the pain killer about 40 minutes before PT helped, but I suspect it did.)

I then took Juan and Sonya off to Trader Joe's to lay in supplies, took them home, drove home, returned to Elise's (and Juan's) house to drop off his backpack, forgotten in the miscellaneous chaos, and then finally got home about half an hour ago. A long day, but a very good one.

It's still likely she'll go to step-down care (and we're trying to work that out, but no resolution yet), but with today's leap forward, it looks like that may be a shorter stay than we'd originally feared. We like that part.
