Most of middle of the night stories involve a pet, and often my current cat, either deciding to pick a fight with someone which results in LOUD DOOR RATTLING, or deciding the human is a snuggly creature and bouncing all over the sleeping me until she settles in.
Thankfully, getting back to sleep after the disturbance is relatively easy for me.
