And there's really a lot I like in it. There's something about the play between 'close collaboration/support/friendship' and 'collaborating with some clear boundaries' and 'doing the same Work, but differently' that was really important to me to see that way when I first read it, and that I keep coming back to.
And while my historical brain wants to poke at the history a lot, other bits of my brain end up comfortably at "But what if that were true, hmm?" and wallow there contentedly.
