Leather (or high quality faux leather) briefcase/satchel? I feel like those run towards Professional, although they also run towards Expensive. But the smooth lines and perceived quality of the material, as well as the "classic" (read: "traditionally masculine") professional briefcase shape, make them a good gender-neutral choice.
