(Though honestly, a lot of my slow cooker things are not that much more prep than you describe: I do a lot of "take bag of frozen vegetables, apply broth to not quite cover, cook until mush, immersion blend into soup, add a bit of cream and lemon juice and maybe already-shredded-cheese and eat for days" stuff, especially in the winter.)
On the laundry, what finch said. I mostly manage by throwing everything in together and having enough clothes to get me through at least 2 weeks at any point in the year. But part of my issue is that I've never had a point in my adult life where I've had a washer and dryer at my general disposal. (It's always been laundromats or apartment laundry rooms, or housemates where I had to work around their schedules, and in practice that meant I did laundry on Friday night when they were all out because everything else was Too Complicated to sort out.
