Consider tracking this post to get notifications of new comments. Select the bell icon (or the words 'track this'). More help over here, and more about notifications in general here.
Comments are welcome whenever you get a chance - even if that's hours or days later. Feel free to jump into whatever sub-threads intrigue you. More discussion is the point of the salon posts!
Got a question you're trying to sort out, or a thing you'd like to discuss? Lots of thoughtful interesting people with a wide range of interests show up here! Feel free to ask about things you're thinking about or trying to solve, as well as other kinds of chat.
Topic of the week
I took Monday and Tuesday off this week, to play catchup on life. It got me thinking about how I use vacation time, and what makes my life easier.
What do you do that improves your life? (Especially if it's a somewhat new thing.)
What I've been up to:
I am now cheerfully into the Martha seasons of New Who. But today, I'd love to rec a podcast, This Is Love (from the same people who do Criminal, which I also like a lot).
I listened to episode 5, "A Private Life" on the way into work this morning, and it is both adorable and a fascinating view of legal history around same-sex marriage and changing attitudes.
House rules:
This is a public post, feel free to encourage other people to drop by, just note the 'if posting anonymously, include a name people can call you in responses' rule.
* Consider this a conversation in my living room, only with a lot more seating. I reserve the right to redirect, screen, and otherwise moderate stuff, but would vastly prefer not to have to.
* If you don't have a DW account or want to post anonymously, please include a name we can call you in this particular post. (You can say AnonymousOne or your favourite colour or whatever. Just something to help keep conversations clear.)
* If you've got a question or concern, feel free to PM me.

Re: tl;dr :P
(If this course sounds worthwhile to any of you, it is a ten-week course for $30 taking place on Discord and it technically starts tomorrow, and you can email hexdotink at gmail to ask about it.)
The first week's lesson PDF is already up, and I'm looking at the spiritual practice part of it, which is a death simulation meditation. And I am trying to convince myself to go spiritually cleanse myself and then do the thing. I'm not sure if I'm hesitating because I'm exhausted or because I'm scared...
Re: tl;dr :P
I wish a lot more people would do this. Especially the medical part-what to do near the end of life, etc.
Good luck with it.

Re: tl;dr :P
...I mentioned exhausted, right? :(
