Happy music!
I spent last night at S.J. Tucker's show in St. Paul last night. (Her first ever in Minnesota, but as she points out, with a full house for her first time in the state, she'll definitely be back.)
Was a fabulous time, made more so by the excellent
elisem site="livejournal.com">, and the fact that M and D also showed up, which meant I got to catch up with them. (I get to see them again on Saturday, too, whee!)
Even better was that somewhere in the middle of the concert, my brain sorted out an actual plan of attack for getting back to more music in my life. I like it when that happens.
Part of this, though, means that I am really seriously, honest-to-Gods, not going to be taking on any additional external projects once Fourth Street is over this year, and I'm *not* going to continue with herbal classes for next year (though I may pick it up again the following year: there's no one else who'd be doing 2nd year with me, so this is also handy for my herbalism teacher - don't worry, Marie, I'll continue doing materia medica.)
It also means finding a voice teacher, because one piece of what I want to do will require ongoing feedback to improve technical skills (hence why taking a year off from the herbs is sane.)

I do know about Calliope Women's Chorus. I'm not sure if I'm looking for choral stuff right now (though I've enjoyed it in the past) I do know that to do some of what I want, I need to get my technical skills back in place (it's been about 11 years since my last voice lesson, and ..4 years? since my last serious choral singing.)
I know my voice has shifted a bit in that time, and I'm not as sure of how to navigate some pieces of the technical stuff.
