Count yourself lucky. I went into the kitchen one day and found several curious cats sitting in a circle around a very still juvenile opossum. Occasionally one of the cats would reach out a paw and poke the poor little thing, as if to suggest that the cat was saying "Did you see it move? I could swear that I saw it moving earlier."

I got a heavy leather glove and picked the poor little thing up and took it outside and set it in the undergrowth near a treeline.

Cat also enjoy it when bats get inside the house. Flying mice are GREAT toys!
