I don't have much by way of moving superstitions (a prayer to St. Christopher before beginning the journey, maybe?), although I do like to get at least a little artwork up on the walls the first day to make it "home." And pack toilet paper, cleaning stuff, some basic foodstuffs, and sheets separately in an "unpack first" box so that they're all accessible right away.
